The Challenges You Face

Does Your Business Struggle with Any of These?

You are not alone. These are the four most common IT challenges destroying operational efficiency for South African organisations — and each has a proven solution.

💸

Spiralling IT Infrastructure Costs

Physical servers sit underutilised while you pay for power, cooling, space and maintenance — costs compounding year after year without proportional business value.

⚡ Average SA organisation wastes 40–60% of server capacity
🔒

Cybersecurity Threats You Cannot See Coming

Ransomware, phishing and insider threats grow more sophisticated daily. A single breach can expose customer data, violate POPIA and cost millions in fines and reputational damage.

⚡ South Africa experiences 577 cyberattacks per hour on average

Downtime That Costs You Every Hour

When systems go down — through load shedding, hardware failure or ransomware — revenue loss and operational paralysis accumulate faster than most organisations realise.

⚡ IT downtime costs South African businesses R50,000+ per hour
📋

HR Compliance Risks and Admin Overload

Manual HR processes and spreadsheet payroll expose your organisation to LRA violations and consume management time that should be focused entirely on growth.

⚡ HR admin consumes 30–40% of management bandwidth

All four problems have proven, scalable solutions — Naledzi Technologies has been implementing them for over a decade.

South African Businesses Are Under-Served by Their IT

Too many South African organisations are paying for IT services that do not understand their context — the power instability, the regulatory landscape, the resource constraints and the growth ambitions. They receive generic solutions designed for global markets, implemented without the local nuance that makes the difference between a system that works and one that transforms.

Naledzi Technologies was founded to close that gap. We bring enterprise-grade technology partnerships with Cisco, Dell Technologies, Fortinet, VMware and Red Hat — combined with the agility, personalisation and contextual expertise of a team that understands South Africa.

The Problem

Your Physical Servers Are Costing You Double What You Think

When you add up hardware purchase, power consumption, cooling, physical space, maintenance contracts and IT hours managing legacy infrastructure — the true cost of running physical servers is staggering. And most South African organisations are running at 40–60% server utilisation, meaning they are paying full price for half the benefit.

40–60%
Server capacity wasted
Weeks
To provision new workloads
Common Pain Points

Expensive hardware refresh cycles every 3–5 years. Single points of failure causing total downtime. IT team spending weeks on provisioning instead of innovation. No ability to scale quickly as the business grows.

  • High capital expenditure on physical hardware
  • Underutilised servers running at 40–60% capacity
  • Weeks to deploy new systems and workloads
  • Single hardware failure brings entire systems down
  • Escalating power and cooling costs
  • Limited ability to scale up or down with demand
Our Solution

🚀

Rapid Provisioning

Deploy new virtual machines and workloads in minutes instead of weeks. Give your business the IT agility to respond to new opportunities without waiting for hardware procurement.

📈

Elastic Scalability

Scale compute and storage resources up or down as your business demands change — without purchasing new hardware. Pay for what you use, not what you might need.

📊

Centralised Management

Manage your entire virtual infrastructure from a single pane of glass. Real-time visibility into resource utilisation, performance and capacity across your environment.

🔒

Built-in Snapshot & Recovery

FAQs

Virtualisation — Common Questions

What is server virtualisation and how does it work?
Server virtualisation uses software (a hypervisor such as VMware vSphere) to partition a single physical server into multiple isolated virtual machines. Each VM runs its own operating system and applications independently, sharing the underlying hardware resources. This allows one physical server to do the work of 10 or more.
How much does virtualisation cost to implement?
The cost depends on your current infrastructure size and goals. Most Naledzi Technologies clients see a return on their virtualisation investment within 12–18 months through hardware savings, reduced power costs and IT time savings. Book a free assessment and we will provide a detailed cost-benefit analysis specific to your environment.
Will virtualisation cause downtime during implementation?
Naledzi Technologies implements virtualisation using live migration techniques that move workloads to the new environment without downtime. We plan all implementations carefully to minimise disruption, typically running migrations outside business hours.
What happens to my data during virtualisation?
Your data remains intact throughout the process. Virtual machines are essentially encapsulated copies of your physical servers. Naledzi Technologies performs full backups before any migration and verifies all data integrity before decommissioning physical hardware.
Can virtualisation work with load shedding?
Yes — virtualisation actually improves your load shedding resilience. With fewer physical servers drawing power, your UPS and generator infrastructure lasts significantly longer during outages. Combined with our BCDR solutions, virtualised environments recover from power events far more quickly than physical server environments.

The Threat Landscape

The Question Is Not If You Will Be Attacked — It Is When

Ransomware, phishing, insider threats and supply-chain attacks are growing in sophistication and frequency. South African organisations are targeted at a higher rate than the global average, yet most still operate without the security controls needed to detect, contain and recover from a modern cyberattack.

577/hr

What Organisations Face Without Proper Protection

Ransomware encrypting all business data and demanding payment. POPIA breaches exposing customers to identity theft. Phishing attacks compromising email accounts and financial systems. Reputational damage that takes years to recover from.

  • Ransomware encrypting critical business data
  • Phishing attacks targeting staff credentials
  • POPIA violations carrying fines up to R10 million
  • No visibility of threats already inside the network
  • Lack of incident response plan when breaches occur
  • Untrained staff clicking malicious links and attachments

FAQs

Cybersecurity — Common Questions

What is the most common way South African businesses get breached?
Phishing emails remain the number one attack vector — 89% of breaches start with a malicious email. Attackers trick staff into clicking links or providing credentials, then use that access to move laterally through the network. This is why email security and staff training are critical components of every Naledzi Technologies security solution.
What does POPIA compliance mean for our IT security?
POPIA requires organisations to implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. From an IT security perspective, this means access controls, encryption, incident response procedures, audit trails and breach notification processes. Naledzi Technologies maps your security posture against POPIA requirements and closes any gaps.
How quickly can you detect and respond to a cyberattack?
With our 24/7 monitoring in place, most threat indicators are detected within minutes. Automated response actions can isolate compromised endpoints immediately. Our team is then notified for investigation and remediation. Mean time to containment depends on the attack type but is measured in hours, not days.
We are a small business — do we really need enterprise-grade security?
Absolutely. Attackers specifically target small and medium businesses precisely because they assume less security is in place. The consequences of a breach — data loss, ransom payments, POPIA fines, reputational damage — are proportionally more devastating for smaller organisations. Naledzi Technologies right-sizes enterprise security for your budget and environment.
What happens if we get hit by ransomware?
If you have Naledzi Technologies security solutions in place, ransomware is typically blocked before it executes. If it does execute, our EDR solutions can quarantine affected endpoints immediately and our BCDR solutions allow rapid recovery from clean backups. We also have incident response procedures to guide your team through the event.

The Risk

Most South African Businesses Are One Disaster Away from Closing

The uncomfortable truth is that most organisations have a backup but have never tested whether it actually works. And in South Africa's environment — with load shedding, extreme weather events and a rising ransomware threat — the probability of a serious disruption event is not low. It is certain. The only question is whether you are ready for it.

The Real Risks You Face

Load shedding causing server crashes and data corruption. Ransomware encrypting backups alongside live data. Hardware failure with no tested recovery path. Manual recovery processes taking days or weeks instead of hours.

  • Load shedding stages 1–8 causing system outages
  • Untested backups that fail when you need them most
  • No defined Recovery Time Objective (RTO) or RPO
  • Ransomware encrypting both live data and backups

FAQs

BCDR — Common Questions

What is the difference between a backup and a disaster recovery plan?
A backup is a copy of your data. A disaster recovery plan defines how your entire business operation recovers from a major disruption — including who does what, in what order, within what timeframe. Most organisations have the former without the latter. Naledzi Technologies delivers both.
What is an RTO and RPO and why do they matter?
Recovery Time Objective (RTO) is the maximum acceptable time for a system to be restored after a disruption. Recovery Point Objective (RPO) is the maximum acceptable amount of data loss measured in time. These are the commitments Naledzi Technologies makes in writing — and tests against — when designing your BCDR solution.
How does load shedding affect our DR strategy?
Load shedding creates multiple BCDR challenges: unexpected server shutdowns causing data corruption, UPS battery drain during extended outages, and connectivity failures when ISP infrastructure is affected. Naledzi Technologies designs solutions that account for all of these — including graceful shutdown sequences, generator handover and LTE connectivity failover.
How often should disaster recovery be tested?
Naledzi Technologies recommends quarterly tabletop exercises and annual full DR tests as a minimum. For organisations in regulated industries or with high availability requirements, more frequent testing is advisable. Every test is documented and results are provided in writing.
Can ransomware affect our backups?
Modern ransomware specifically targets backup systems. Protection against this requires immutable backups — copies that cannot be altered or deleted by ransomware. Naledzi Technologies implements immutable backup technologies as standard in all BCDR solutions.

FAQs

HR Management — Common Questions

Can the HR system handle South African payroll including PAYE and UIF?
Yes. Naledzi Technologies implements HR and payroll platforms with South African statutory compliance built in — including PAYE calculations, UIF contributions, Skills Development Levy, SDL submissions and IRP5 generation. The system stays current with SARS regulatory changes automatically.
How long does HR system implementation take?
Implementation typically takes 4–8 weeks depending on the size of your organisation and complexity of existing HR processes. Naledzi Technologies manages the full implementation including data migration, configuration, integration testing and staff training. Business operations are not disrupted during this period.
What happens to our existing employee data?
Naledzi Technologies manages a complete data migration from your existing systems — whether spreadsheets, legacy payroll software or paper files. All historical employee data, leave balances and payroll records are migrated and validated before the new system goes live.
How does the system help with disciplinary procedures under the LRA?
The platform provides structured workflows for disciplinary hearings, written warnings, counselling records and grievance procedures — all aligned to LRA requirements. Every interaction is time-stamped and documented, creating an audit trail that protects the organisation in CCMA proceedings.
Is employee data secure and POPI Act compliant?
Yes. All employee personal information is stored with encryption at rest and in transit, access controlled on a need-to-know basis with full audit logging, and managed in line with POPI Act requirements for employee data. Naledzi Technologies provides a data processing agreement as part of the implementation.

STOP FIREFIGHTING YOUR IT.
LET US MANAGE IT FOR YOU.

Reactive IT support is expensive, unpredictable and disruptive. Naledzi Technologies managed IT services give your organisation proactive monitoring, SLA-backed response times and a dedicated engineering team — all for a predictable monthly investment.

📞 +27 83 616 0415
The Problem with Reactive IT

When IT breaks, everything stops. Staff cannot work, clients cannot reach you, and your internal IT team spends all their time firefighting instead of building capability. The hidden cost of reactive IT — lost productivity, emergency call-out fees and the constant uncertainty — is almost always higher than the cost of a proper managed services agreement.

💸

Unpredictable IT costs

Emergency support, ad-hoc fixes and unplanned hardware replacements create budget uncertainty that makes planning impossible.

🔥

Constant firefighting

Your IT team spends 80% of their time reacting to problems instead of proactively improving systems and supporting business growth.

⏱️

Slow response times

When critical systems fail, response time without a managed services agreement is measured in hours — not minutes.

📉

No strategic IT roadmap

Without a managed services partner, IT investments happen reactively rather than as part of a planned programme aligned to business objectives.

Our Managed IT Solution

Naledzi Technologies managed IT services cover your entire IT environment — proactively monitoring, maintaining and optimising every system so that problems are resolved before they impact your business.

👁️

24/7 Proactive Monitoring

We monitor your entire environment around the clock — servers, network, endpoints and cloud workloads. Most issues are identified and resolved before users are affected.

SLA-Backed Response Times

Every managed services client has a defined SLA. Critical incidents get a 1-hour response commitment. We measure our performance and report on it monthly.

🔧

FAST, RELIABLE CONNECTIVITY
BUILT FOR SOUTH AFRICA

Unreliable internet kills productivity, undermines cloud investments and disconnects your team from clients and each other. Naledzi Technologies designs and manages connectivity solutions with built-in redundancy, load shedding failover and SLA-backed uptime — built for South Africa's unique challenges.

📞 +27 83 616 0415
The Connectivity Challenge in South Africa

South Africa's connectivity landscape presents unique challenges that generic international solutions are not designed for. Load shedding disrupts ISP infrastructure. Single-link connectivity is a single point of failure. Remote and multi-site operations require consistent, managed connectivity across diverse geographic environments.

Load Shedding Disruption

When power goes out, internet connectivity often goes with it — even with UPS in place, your ISP's infrastructure may be affected. Without failover, your business goes dark.

🔗

Single Points of Failure

Most South African organisations run on a single internet connection. When that link fails, all cloud services, email, VoIP and remote access fail simultaneously.

🌍

Multi-Site Complexity

Managing connectivity across multiple offices, branches or remote workers creates complexity, inconsistency and security challenges that require a unified managed approach.

💸

Bandwidth Costs

Unmanaged bandwidth consumption drives up costs. Without traffic shaping and QoS policies, low-priority traffic can crowd out business-critical applications.

Our Connectivity Solutions

Naledzi Technologies designs, procures and manages connectivity solutions that give your organisation the speed, resilience and security it needs — with one point of accountability.

🔌

Fibre Connectivity

High-speed fibre connections with SLA-backed uptime sourced from South Africa's leading ISPs — including Vumatel, Openserve, Frogfoot and MetroFibre.

📶

LTE / 5G Failover

Automatic failover to LTE or 5G when primary connectivity fails — including during load shedding. Your business stays online even when your primary link goes down.

🌐

SD-WAN

Software-defined WAN aggregating multiple links for maximum availability and performance. Automatic traffic routing ensures critical applications always get bandwidth priority.

🏢

Multi-Site Networking

Unified network management across all your locations — consistent security policies, centralised monitoring and simplified troubleshooting across your entire estate.

🔒

Secure Remote Access

SLA-backed VPN infrastructure giving your remote workforce fast, secure, reliable access to business systems from anywhere in South Africa.

📊

Bandwidth Management

Traffic shaping and QoS policies ensuring business-critical applications always have the bandwidth they need, regardless of overall network load.

BUILT ON A DECADE OF
SOUTH AFRICAN IT EXCELLENCE

Naledzi Technologies was founded with one purpose: to make enterprise-grade IT accessible to every South African organisation — regardless of size, sector or geography.

Our Story

Where We Started and Why It Still Drives Us

Naledzi Technologies was established in Johannesburg with a clear belief: South African organisations deserve the same world-class IT infrastructure that global enterprises enjoy. Too many local businesses were underserved by generic solutions that ignored the South African context — the power instability, the regulatory landscape, the resource constraints and the ambitions of a growing economy.

Over the past decade we have grown from a focused IT solutions firm into a comprehensive technology transformation partner — maintaining the personalised service and contextual expertise our first clients valued, while adding the depth, partnerships and capacity to serve organisations at any scale.
